• Dear Hugh Cole School Families:

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!

It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that we invite our Hugh Cole students to join us on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.  We welcome parents with students Grades 1 through Grade 5 to walk their children to their classrooms for the first day of school.  Parents must sign before they enter the building.

School Hours: Hugh Cole school hours remain the same as last year - our doors open for students at 8:00 a.m.  All students are expected to be in their classrooms and ready for learning at 8:15am.  Students who are not in their classrooms at 8:25am are tardy. Dismissal is at 2:50 pm.

Bus Information: Parents who wish their children to ride a bus to and from school must complete a transportation request form. You can find the form on the District website, or you can stop into the school or District office to complete the form. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s school or our district Transportation Coordinator, Eileen Ciniglio at 401-253-4000 ext. 5122 or eileen.ciniglio@bwrsd.org.

Bus routes and stop information will be published as soon as it is available.  The information is published in the Bristol Phoenix and the Warren Times and will also be available on the district web site: www.bwrsd.org.  If you have any questions regarding bus stops or routes, you can contact First Student Bus Company at 245-1100 or 245-0120.

Child Care Transportation Request Form: If you are planning to request transportation to or from a child care location or any address other than your home address, please call the Administrative Office at 253-4000 extension 5122 to make arrangements to complete the proper request form.  Even if your child has been bussed to an alternate location in the past, this form must be completed annually.

Child Care: COZ offers before and after school care in the Hugh Cole cafeteria. This is a fee for service program. For program information including rates and financial aid information call the COZ program office at 245-2461.

Emergency Procedure Form: Please sign and have your child bring this form the first day of school.  We ask that you take time to complete this thoroughly to ensure your child’s safety as your child will only be released to the individuals listed on this form.  The Emergency Procedure Form should have the names of all individuals who may be picking your child up from school and should be updated regularly if any information changes. Other important forms for you to complete will come home with your child the first day of school.

Nut Free Classrooms: Please note that all Hugh Cole School classrooms are designated as Nut Free rooms, students may not eat nut products in the classroom.   Please plan your child’s classroom snacks accordingly.  For the health and safety of all children, no food products should be brought to school to share with your child’s class.  Also, children will not be allowed to share food.  Children may bring nut products to school to eat in the cafeteria at lunchtime, as there are designated nut free areas and nut product areas.   Any questions can be directed to the school nurse, Melissa Johnson.

Lunch Menu: The following are the prices for lunch and breakfast:  Lunch $2.75 (reduced $0.40), Milk $0.55, Breakfast $1.25 (reduced $0.30).  The application for free/reduced lunch is included in this packet. Remember that you can use “My School Bucks” (https://www.myschoolbucks.com) to load money on your child’s lunch account so you don’t have to worry about sending in lunch money.
