Welcome to the KMS Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.
National Junior Honor Society: Since 1929, the National Junior Honor Society has been recognizing the highest achieving students in grades 6-8. Modeled after its well-known companion program, the National Honor Society, NJHS provides a solid foundation for ambitious middle level students as they prepare for their high school and higher education pursuits.
Selection to the KMS chapter of the NJHS is based on scholarship, leadership, character, citizenship, and service. Eligibility is considered if a student has a cumulative average of 93 or higher at the conclusion of the 3rd quarter in their 6th and/or 7th grade year. Students who are eligible will be notified and have the opportunity to submit an application for membership. The KMS Faculty Council will review all applications and notify students of acceptance into NJHS before the end of the school year. A ceremony to formally induct all new members is held in early fall of the following school year.
