Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)

The largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for students with disabilities, and/or the gifted by advocating for appropriate governmental policies.

US Department of Education/Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS)

Committed to improving results and outcomes for people with disabilities of all ages providing a wide array of support in three main areas: special education, vocational rehabilitation, and research.

National Association of Parents with Children in Special Education (NAPCSE)

A national association dedicated to ensuring that all children and adolescents with special needs receive the best education possible. 

National Autism Center

National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD)

Works to ensure that children, adolescents, and adults with learning disabilities have every opportunity to succeed in school, work and life.

National Center on Secondary Education & Transition (NCSET)

Coordinates national resources, offers technical assistance, and disseminates information on secondary education and transition for youth with disabilities.

A youth-led resource for emerging leaders with developmental disabilities taking a positive development approach and developing materials to better prepare them for the transition to adulthood and leadership.

A federation of voluntary health organizations dedicated to helping people with rare diseases and assisting the organizations that serve them.

Parent Advocacy Coalition for Educational Rights (PACER) Center

Center for Parent Information and Resources

Family-friendly information and research-based materials on key topics from Parent Centers throughout the United States.  This national organization connects all Parent Centers like RI Parent Information Network with others around the country.

The mission is to help children with special needs receive the resources, love, hope, respect, health care, education, and other services needed to reach their full potential by providing them with responsive systems to serve them.
